Rooms & Attendance
Old Ebbitt Grill makes for an impressive and unique location for a Washington DC wedding. The property is located two blocks from the White House, with an incredible panoramic vista from our Rooftop Terrace. This stunning outdoor space terrace overlooks the East Wing of the White House, with sweeping views from the National Cathedral to the Pentagon and along the Potomac River. Steeped in political history, the Old Ebbitt Grill has been a classic gathering place for Presidents and generals, lobbyists and theatergoers since 1856.
Our Rooftop Terrace, Atrium and Cabinet Room are ideal for wedding celebrations, ranging from small and intimate to grand and stylish for 20 to 450 guests.
Food & Beverage
Our Event Manager and Executive Chef look forward to creating a menu with the freshest seasonal fare and providing personal attention to every detail of your wedding. In order to help you choose your menu, we provide a complimentary tasting for two. We also offer personalized printed menus for your guests. For your convenience, we’ve put together packages that includes every detail needed for your day. This package is based on a five-hour wedding reception ranging from $135 – $160 per person.
Vegetarians and Dietary Needs
We will make every effort to accommodate all vegetarians, vegans, allergies and other dietary needs.
Our bar package includes five hours of standard open bar, with a celebratory toast at dinner and tableside wine service. Premium level liquor and upgraded wine are available for an additional charge. Any guest attending the event and requesting alcoholic beverages may be asked to present proof of age, and we reserve the right to decline service to any guest at any time.
You’re welcome to provide your own wedding cake with no additional cutting fee. A list of recommended bakers is available upon request.
Linens & Centerpieces
We provide dining tables, gold chairs, white tablecloths, white napkins, and flameless votive candles. Linens or specialty furniture may be rented from an outside vendor. We do not allow real flame candles of any kind.
Bands, DJs, or other Audiovisual usage
The Full Atrium must be reserved when using amplified sound, music or AV equipment.
AV equipment and music may only be used after 8:00 pm Monday-Friday. We recommend a minimum of four speakers (2 wireless) when using amplified sound in the Atrium, based on configuration of the space.
Entrance and Security
Your guests will have access to a private entrance, and a security guard fee of $440 will apply for a five hour reception. Submission of full guest list is required.
We provide a special menu to children under the age of 10, priced at $30 per child.
Guaranteed Guest Count
A final guest count is due by noon, two business days prior to the event date and is not subject to reduction.
Deposit & Payment
Rental of the Full Atrium requires a non-refundable deposit equal to 50% of the food and beverage minimum, along with a $1,250 room rental fee. Final payment is due at the conclusion of the event. Billing/invoicing is not available.
Service Charge and Sales Tax
A 20% service charge will be added to all food and beverage charges. 10% DC sales tax will be added to all food, beverage, fees and service charges.
All cancellations must be made in writing. Cancellations within 30 days of event date are subject to a charge equal to entire estimate, or $135 per guest, whichever is greater. Cancellations prior to 30 days of event date will be subject to the forfeiture of the full deposit.
