Since 1995, David has been running the Old Ebbitt Grill, Washington D.C.メs oldest and busiest restaurant. During Davidメs tenure sales have risen from $9 million to over $20 million dollars annually. However, Davidメs talent in the restaurant business is not only limited to operations, his vision of future trends is apparent. In 1997, he helped launch the モOyster Riot and International Wines for Oysters Competition,ヤ a celebration of oyster season during its peak preceded by an international wine competition. The Oyster Riot, expanded by popular demand to two nights, now draws crowds of over 1000 people each night and has received national exposure in The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, The Boston Globe and The Washington Post.
Under Davidメs guidance the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington has honored the Old Ebbitt Grill and his staff of nearly 300 with several prestigious awards. In 2001 the Old Ebbitt Grill was named Washington D.C.メs Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year.
Davidメs proudest moment came in 2004, when he was named Manager of the Year. Accepting his award in front of his family, friends and peers, he thanked the two most important women in is life ヨ his wife, Christy and his mother, Ellen, and finished by evoking his fatherメs spirit and wishing he was there to share in the moment. David is also blessed with two beautiful children; his son, P.J. and daughter, Katie. Even in todayメs high volume, fast paced, competitive industry, David still imparts the spirit of P.J.
